HOW WE WORKTheatre Based Training
Theatre-based training (TBT) is a range of theatrical interventions applied to business training to enhance and reinforce the training impact. Using skilled actors to support the training message through consistent, realistic performances of work-specific material, results in maximum impact and influence on participants.
We are constantly energised by the success of this method of training and by the enthusiasm and positive feedback we receive from participants and clients.
Role-Play for Training
Businesses and trainers are just beginning to recognise the effectiveness of using professional role-players in training. In any intervention where you want to develop people skills or change existing behaviour, using actors to ‘practice’ on has multiple benefits, including:
• Realism and authenticity of experience for trainees
• Reinforcement of key messages
• Positive impact on learning created through an interactive and engaging process
• Eliminating barriers to learning caused by role-playing with peers (for delegates on training programmes)
Role-play for training features:
• Scenarios tailored to your specific business needs
• ‘Live’ scenarios with ‘real’ customers/colleagues
• Consistent and credible performances
• Skilled feedbackRole-play – Feedback – Coaching Model
Shift has developed the RFC Model based on the combination of our core skills – theatre-based training (role-play), skilled feedback and coaching.
Roleplay – to assess current skills
Feedback – to develop awareness
Coaching – to enable development
Roleplay – to embed learning
Interactive Forum Theatre
A core element of our services is live theatre forum. A scenario relevant to the training or strategy objective is performed by actors. The group observes, discusses and re-directs the action. Through this process, they come to understand and embrace new behaviours. This is an effective way to engage staff, raise self-awareness and bring real life work issues and scenarios into the training room.
