Women in Leadership

This programme brings together the skills and experience of our own panel of women leaders from a broad spectrum of backgrounds. This programme facilitates the exploration of and strategies to deal with the specific issues facing women in leadership, as well as covering the core elements to being an effective leader. (This programme can also include a module on Image & Personal Branding – see below for details).

Image & Personal Branding

Presented by Maggie Gibbons, this workshop focuses on understanding the concept of personal branding and it’s relevance in how we are perceived, and is must for the polished professional.

Maggie is a popular Life, Style & Image Coach who is familiar to many from television (Open House) and radio (The Mooney Show), where she has been dubbed ‘the brown bread of style coaches’ by Brenda Donohue (RTÉ) for her down to earth approach. An engaging, dynamic and inspirational person, Maggie’s personal motto is ‘Be the best you can be every day’ and she brings this ethos and positive outlook to her workshops. These cover:

- Personal branding
- Personal image and presentation
- Dressing for success (style, colour, body-shape, clothing personality, grooming)
- The 4 A’s of dressing for business
- Developing an elevator pitch
- Bringing inner confidence out

Managers

Leading People

Leading a team can be one of the greatest challenges you face in business. How do you drive, unify, support, motivate and inspire a diverse group, yet remain focused on achieving those crucial targets?

Shift looks at leading people from the performance perspective, developing awareness of the different ‘audiences’ for whom a business leader ‘performs’ - board members, line manager, customers, colleagues and direct reports. We work to build self-awareness, change perspectives and challenge stagnant working practices, enabling you to build and expand on your leadership qualities.

We provide group training programmes or one-to-one coaching to develop and improve management skills in areas such as:

• Leading Change/Managing through Change
• Coaching/Mentoring
• Managing Difficult Behaviour
• Motivating Yourself & Others
• Communicating Purpose and Meaning

Developing New Managers

Do you want:
- Your newly-appointed managers/team leaders to hit the ground running?
- To develop people who’ve shown potential but been unsuccessful in the selection process?

Getting newly-appointed managers or team leaders up to speed when they’ve had little or no previous management experience presents a significant challenge. Keeping the unsuccessful candidate motivated and preventing a performance ‘dip’ is also challenging. Shift’s manager development programme develops strengths and closes skills gaps for both these groups. Participants learn to recognise their own management style and develop skills, through an intensive experiential programme.
